Parking and Access to Getaria Port

The port area is one of the main parking zones for visitors in Getaria. Access is easy depending on where you're coming from:

From Zarautz

Before entering the town of Getaria, turn right and take the road down to the port and beach. This road crosses the entire port.
🚫 Note: Access is prohibited for caravans and vehicles taller than 1.90 m (vertical signage indicates the restriction).

From Zumaia

Before reaching the town, take the left turn towards the port.
🚫 Note: From the sign onwards, buses, caravans, and vehicles over 1.90 m in height are not allowed.
🚐 There is a dedicated motorhome parking area for 10 vehicles. Park within the blue lines to avoid blocking traffic.


Types of Parking

  • White lines: Free parking year-round.

  • White lines with "R" and "E" letters: Reserved for residents. Active only when blue zone is active.

  • Blue lines: Regulated parking during the period indicated on the calendar.

  • Blue and white lines: High-turnover parking zone.

⏱️ High turnover: Maximum parking time of 40 minutes. Active all year.
Outside regulated hours:

  • Summer: Only authorized residents may park.

  • Rest of the year: Parking is free.


Motorhomes and Buses

  • 🚐 Motorhomes: Must park in the designated area at Gaztetape beach (max length: 5 m). Parking elsewhere is not allowed.

  • 🚌 Buses: Cannot access the port.

    • Passenger loading/unloading: Allowed at the regular bus stop, only if it does not overlap with scheduled bus times (check timetable here).

    • Bus parking: In the San Prudencio industrial area (see map).
