The settlement continued in the Late Antique and Early Medieval periods with a type of construction similar to a hut, which did not vary much over the next few centuries. This settlement grew around a primitive hermitage located in the area where the church of San Salvador stands today, on the other side of the stream that existed at the time.

Early medieval village

A village made up of wooden huts, with a quadrangular or circular floor plan, which were located next to the primitive church. The stream that runs through what is now the Kale Nagusia is channelled, dividing the living area from the sacred space of the church and the perimeter cemetery.
