Getaria is a charming coastal town located in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country, northern Spain. Nestled between Zarautz and Zumaia, it lies just 25 kilometers from San Sebastián. This picturesque fishing village is well-known for its small harbor, grilled seafood cuisine, txakoli white wine, and as the birthplace of notable figures such as Juan Sebastián Elcano and fashion designer Cristóbal Balenciaga.

By car

Getting to Getaria by car is very easy. The town is well connected by road and easily accessible from San Sebastián, Bilbao or Vitoria via the N-634 road or the AP-8 motorway.

By bus

Traveling to Getaria by bus is convenient and affordable. Lines UK09, UK10, and UK11 (Lurraldebus/Euskotren) link San Sebastián–Zarautz–Getaria–Zumaia, running every 30 more-or-less.
